Bi-Weekly Rotary Meeting Minutes, August 17, 2026
This Meeting was held at ERFC (Education Resources for Children) in combination with School backpack event

5:30 - Backpack event in support of ERFC: We had a good turn-out. Back packs will be distributed at the Enfield Town Green on Saturday @ 11:00 am. David Kiner, Director of ERFC expressed his appreciation for our club support.
6:00 - Dinner and Bi-weekly meeting
- Kevin Mayo led the Salute to our Flag.
- Scott Kaupin led the four-way test.
- Greg Stokes led the prayer.
- Reminder that the Enfield Society for the Detection of Thieves and Robbers will host their 204th annual meeting and banquet on September 15th at 5:30 pm. Contact Kim Quinn, Scott Kaupin, or Don Zdunczyk for tickets. See the Aug. 3rd minutes for more details.
- The Windsor/Windsor Locks club food packing event will be held Saturday, September 19th, at the CREC school in Windsor. We will be providing club support in terms of volunteers and donations. $1500 was donated last year.
- National Night Out 2027 will be scheduled on a Tuesday or Wednesday. This is a national event which provides an opportunity to meet Fire, Police, and other first responders in our community.
- Lunch Link will occur this Tuesday, 4 pm, at Hazardville Methodist Church basement. Last week, 46 meals were served.
- Martha Parsons Project - This is a new exciting project spearheaded by Mike Cotnoir for the upcoming renovation of Matha Parsons house. See the flyer circulated on our website and Facebook page. Contact Mike to volunteer your talents and time. The project will occur over the next year. Joe Muller will tour the site this Wednesday. To avoid losing volunteers, it is important that we all contact Mike via E-mail rather than submit info on FB or other avenues.
- Out next club meeting will be held at Martha Parsons house, 9/21/2026. The Labor Day meeting is cancelled for the holiday.
- Upcoming Guest Speakers will be Aaron Patterson from Midwest Food Bank - Manchester, CT and Kathleen from the Enfield Food Shelf.
- Next Monday is the Paul Harris Nomination meeting at Powder Hollow Brewery, at 5:30 pm (for past Paul Harris recipients).
- Paul Harris Dinner is Monday, October 26th at Grassmere Country Club.
- Joe Muller is to appear on Cindy Mangini's TV show, "Chats with Cindy", on Youtube in early September. Joe will discuss the efforts of our Rotary Club.
- Our Social with the Somers and Stafford Rotary clubs will take place on October 4th.
- Happy/Sads - Joyce and Scott discussed the wonderful drone show at the America 250 celebration in Somers.
- Next club meeting will be at Martha Parsons House, 9/21/2026.
